Staff Grade Occupational Therapist

Contract : 1 year Fixed Term

Location: Raheny /Blanchardstown

Hours: 35 per week

Salary Scale: 45,063 - 64,424

St. Francis Hospice Dublin provides a comprehensive range of palliative care services for patients and their families living in North Dublin City and County.

The Staff Grade Occupational Therapist will work as part of the Occupational Therapy team at St. Francis Hospice Dublin working in close collaboration with other multi-disciplinary team members across the different services (In-Patient unit, Outpatients and Day service and in the Community)

The person must…

  • Be CORU registered
  • Have clinical experience (as an occupational therapist, occupational therapy student or other clinical role) in a hospice setting/ acute hospital setting and/ or primary care
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy in specialist palliative care, seating and pressure care and the discharge planning processes
  • Have proven clinical, organisational, communication and leadership skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Have proven organisational skills and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions
  • Competent and proficient IT skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in symptom management education
  • Clinical experience with palliative care or oncology patients
