St Francis Hospice Dublin is proud to be shortlisted as a National Lottery Good Causes Awards County Winner! St Francis Hospice, Raheny and Blanchardstown, is all about people and community: our patients and families, our extraordinary staff and volunteers and our amazing community whose generosity has enabled us to provide our services at no cost for everyone in our locality requiring them.
Today, we provide specialist palliative services for the nearly 700,000 people who live in North Dublin and the surrounding counties. Our community has changed almost beyond recognition since we were founded in 1989. While people in Ireland are living longer, the ways in which each person chooses to live with illness and with their medical conditions are changing.
In the last eight years, our number of patients has increased by 58%. We expect an increase of an additional 700 patients per year by the end of this decade.
We thank the National Lottery for recognising our great work and once again, thanks to you, our community, for your incredible support.
