2nd Annual Health Care Assistants Study Day

This in-person palliative care study day aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of health care assistants in delivering person-centred, holistic care.

This day is designed to explore and reinforce the competencies of health care assistants based on the last three domains of the palliative care competence framework. (AIIHPC 2014)

The following topics will be covered:

• Care planning and collaborative practice
• Loss, grief and bereavement- exploring concepts
• Recognising the uniqueness and variety of psychological responses to a life-limiting illness – Role of HCAs?
• Professional and Ethical practice in the context of palliative care
• Caring for yourself when caring for others
