Tree of Life: A Time to Remember

Since 1989 the people of North Dublin City and County have entrusted their loved ones to our care here at St. Francis Hospice, Raheny. For the staff and
volunteers at the Hospice, it has been and will always be a privilege to travel with patients and families during the most important stage of their life’s journey.
All who have passed through our care during the past number of years have enriched our lives beyond measure.

The Tree of Life, since 1996, has become a part of our preparation for Christmas where we remember the people who are no longer with us to celebrate Christmas. It is also a time for us to think of those close to us who are experiencing sadness or difficulty.

A special Ecumenical Service will be held in the grounds of the Hospice on Thursday, 13th December 2012 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. The theme of the service will be one of remembrance and peace, symbolised by a large Christmas Tree, the “Hospice Tree of Life” which will be illuminated by hundreds of lights. During the service, which will be filled with the music and voices of a choir, the lights of the tree will be switched on.

The staff and volunteers of St. Francis Hospice invite you to join them in this very special time of reflection and a coming together of community.

Please be reminded that this is an outdoor ceremony, so wrap up well. Also, there will be no seating available at the ceremony. To ensure the safety and privacy of patients the Hospice will be closed for the duration of the ceremony and car parking will be outside the Hospice Grounds only.

Lights on the Hospice Tree of Life may be sponsored at a cost of €5 per light. They are also available for sponsorship on the night of the service. If you need further details about the service or sponsorship of lights please contact
