Hospice Daycare Visit from the Zoo

Visit from the Zoo

On Wednesday 15th June 2011 we had a visit to Hospice Day Care by two Zoo Keepers - Mark and Lee.  They brought numerous snakes of different colours and sizes, a tarantula spider and a lizard.  This was the first time that we had a visit like this to the Hospice and prior to their arrival there was a little apprehension from both patients and staff alike!  This apprehension was "very" short lived with many people who claimed that they had phobias being reluctant to let go of the animals.  Mark and Lee were very professional and caring in their demonstration and diffused anxieties quickly.  Much enjoyment was had by all who visited.  We look forward to their return.
